When Durham’s Gary Cantor discovered a Youtube video by Dr. Aubrey de Grey about the correlation between computer coding and DNA coding, he was immediately inspired. At that time, he wrote Dr. de Grey an email. He received a reply inviting him to a conference in England. What they didn’t know was that he was thirteen at the time. After that, Durham’s Gary Cantor discovered his clear path for his future pursuits. He was accepted to the Biological and Biomedical Sciences Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and at that point the first thing he did was thank Dr. de Grey for the inspiration. He continues to work in that field to this day in Durham, North Carolina.
